'Gaza is a jail. Nobody is allowed to leave. We are all starving now'

By Patrick Cockburn in Gaza

09/08/06 "
The Independent" -- -- Gaza is dying. The Israeli siege of the Palestinian enclave is so tight that its people are on the edge of starvation. Here on the shores of the Mediterranean a great tragedy is taking place that is being ignored because the world's attention has been diverted by wars in Lebanon and Iraq.

A whole society is being destroyed. There are 1.5 million Palestinians imprisoned in the most heavily populated area in the world. Israel has stopped all trade. It has even forbidden fishermen to go far from the shore so they wade into the surf to try vainly to catch fish with hand-thrown nets.

The deadly toll

* After the kidnap of Cpl Gilad Shalit by Palestinians on 25 June, Israel launched a massive offensive and blockade of Gaza under the operation name Summer Rains.

* The Gaza Strip's 1.3 million inhabitants, 33 % live in refugee camps, have been under attack for 74 days.

* More than 260 Palestinians, including 64 children and 26 women, have been killed since 25 June. One in five is a child. One Israeli soldier has been killed and 26 have been wounded.

* 1,200 Palestinians have been injured, including up to 60 amputations. A third of victims brought to hospital are children.

* Israeli warplanes have launched more than 250 raids on Gaza, hitting the two power stations and the foreign and Information ministries.

* At least 120 Palestinian structures including houses, workshops and greenhouses have been destroyed and 160 damaged by the Israelis.

* The UN has criticised Israel's bombing, which has caused an estimated $1.8bn in damage to the electricity grid and leaving more than a million people without regular access to drinking water.

* The Israeli human rights group B'Tselem says 76 Palestinians, including 19 children, were killed by Israeli forces in August alone. Evidence shows at least 53 per cent were not participating in hostilities.

* In the latest outbreak of violence, three Palestinians were killed yesterday when Israeli troops raided a West Bank town in search of a wanted militant. Two of those killed were unarmed, according to witnesses.

My comment:

Could anybody in the west (the so called free nations) say that Israel is not a terrorist state?

A true word from an Israeli murderer

I found an interesting quote from David Ben Gurion (a founder of Israel i.e. a murderer):

'Why should the Arabs make peace? If I was an Arab leader I would never make terms with Israel. That is natural: we have taken their country. Sure God promised it to us, but what does that matter to them? Our God is not theirs. They only see one thing: we have come here and stolen their country. Why should they accept that?'

ISRAELIS vs ARABS --- WHO ARE THE REAL TERRORISTS?

By: Hal Turner

(Why would rational human beings, given a choice, choose to attack their neighbors rather than live together in peace? More pertinent, why would a rational human being choose to blow himself up rather than live? The Israelis, the US media and our politicians would have us believe that the Arabs are simply not rational. They routinely tell us that Arabs are "religious fanatics" who "hate freedom" or "hate our way of life" to quote George W. Bush. These arguments are fallacious and intellectually bankrupt.

The reason for Arab against Israeli violence is simple: The Israelis have been systematically repressing and brutalizing hundreds of thousands of Arabs on a scale unparalleled since World War 2. I have the proof.

This is a qutaion from an interesting article.

Hamas is not a terrorist organization.

Is Hamas a Terrorist Organization?
By Mike Whitney

09/01/06 "Information Clearing House " -- -- The Bush administration should seriously consider removing Hamas from the State Department’s list of terrorist organizations. Most people don’t realize that Hamas (Islamic Resistance Party) has kept its truce with Israel and stopped all suicide bombing missions for over a year and a half. Their restraint shows that they are serious about finding a peaceful way to resolve the decades-long dispute.

Despite Hamas’ attempts to forgo violence, Israeli attacks on Palestinians have increased dramatically since Hamas was elected in January 2006. Israel refuses to recognize the democratically-elected parliament and has done everything in its power to remove them from office. This is why the United States should get involved and persuade Israel to accept the sovereign right of the Palestinian people to choose their own representatives. Removing Hamas from the terrorist list would be a good first step in this effort. It would acknowledge Hamas’ transformation into a political organization and deny Israel the moral justification for kidnapping officials in the Hamas government. Over 64 party officials and members of parliament have been abducted in the last two months.

This must stop. The Bush administration needs to act as an “honest broker” and show that it is willing to back up its rhetoric about “spreading democracy” in the Middle East.

My comment:

That is a very rational and wise analysis by Mr. Mike. I wish it will find an ear of some wise people who influence Israel terrorism too.

The establishment of Israel is illegal

- - - - - -
181
The Resolution of the non-concerned
The Resolution
of the non-rightful
The Resolution of the non-affected

in the year 1947......when the UN-resolution nr.181 coming from the UN General Assembly allowed the establishment of a State of Israel alongside with the State of Palestine.

It is worthwhile mentioning that such a Resolution by the General Assembly of the UN is not binding, never was .........and still is not.
It is practically only a matter of an "opinion" (a referendum).

Only the UN Security Council Resolutions are binding and legal.........(when and if ever they are implemented)

What do we learn from this:
1- the permission to establish the state of Israel was not biding.........therefore not legal.
2- No Arab State accepted it. Palestinians were not asked.
3- No direct nor indirect geographical-Neighbour accepted it.
4- the Colonial Powers and the Stalinist-Russia were in favour plus some remote Banana-republics not to forget Iceland which until today 2006 is a remote and hardly inhabited North-Pole-island, with all due respect.
5- Lebanon counted for one vote against and Iceland, also one vote, but in favour. Even the Kingdom of Jordan did not exist (on paper yet) so it could not vote.
6. Remarkably and symbolically we see the colonial-South Africa voting in favour for its "twin-sister" Israel.
7. some 10 Arab-states who ,today, do exist were not allowed to vote...plus around 35 third-world-states who were also colonised therefore "silenced", exactly like those 10 Arab-states.

Conclusion :

To pretend that Israel were to be legally established by the United Nations is a misinterpretation of facts. and to pretend that the people concerned have had a Veto-right or at least a preferential-status...is also wrong.

Israel became later a member of the UN....
but that is something else.

Israeli troops kill 8 in Gaza operation

They are slaughtering the palestinians. It is the Israeli terrorism.

Israeli troops launched airstrikes on the outskirts of Gaza City and exchanged gunfire with Palestinian militants Wednesday, killing eight people, officials said.

Israeli forces since the weekend have killed a total of 18 Palestinians.

At least one of those killed Wednesday in two airstrikes and exchanges of gunfire was a gunman, and another person was shot while trying to launch a rocket-propelled grenade at the troops, doctors and security officials said.

Also among those slain were a 14-year-old boy, shot as he gathered with a group of people to watch the fighting, hospital officials said, and a 30-year-old man killed by a heavy caliber bullet to the head as he stood on the roof of his house.

How popular Israel is [in the United States]?

The President of Iran has an excellent idea. . . . I would like to see them move Israel to Virginia and put all the current Virginians in a concentration camp. Then we'll see how popular Israel is [in the United States]."

Why should we disarm any liberation-army ?

Why should we disarm any liberation-army ?
is it only then ,for the sake of the occupiers ?
Why should Hezbollah lay down its arms,
so that Israel may rule exclusively and unchallenged ?
Why should Hezbollah lay down anything
before the Comprehensive ,Lasting and Just Peace , is established ?
Is the problem residing in the possession of arms only
or the problem is basically the occupation and colonisation of Palestine ??
Why should Iran refrain from its Nuclear-power-possession ?
Why does Israel have it ?? since 1963.....
and is even marketing it worldwide......!!
Disarm Israel first,
decolonise Palestine, secondly
and only then ,
come and ask us for Peace.....
Is my above writing unrealistic ?
why ??....is it only because Israel has more and better weapons ?
or because, the weapons in the hands of Israel are acceptable
more than the weapons which Saddam has even never had
and more than the weapons Iran would like to have , very soon ?

Israel Defense Forces troops killed a 64-year-old man in Jenin on Sunday, it was released for publication Monday.Palestinian sources said Monday that Sabri Khalil worked as a night watchman at a local school. After he shined his flashlight on a passing car, soldiers patrolling the city shot him in the chest, killing him. The IDF confirmed that soldiers shot a Palestinian standing on a rooftop, saying he had apparently been holding a weapon at the time. An army spokesman said that in retrospect, it appears that the man was holding a flashlight.
